projects

Here is a relatively complete list of all the major projects I've undertaken in the last three years. A couple of things really stick out when I look back over all this stuff. First, how did I make it through six years in the Navy without producing anything worthy of being listed here? (a testament to the power of the military to monopolize one's time) Second, I remember that just 3 short years ago I had no idea what object oriented programming was, I had never programmed in anything but scripting languages, and I remember thinking then that I knew so much...

Personal Projects

These are projects I undertook of my own volition out of personal interest or, well, boredom. Currently I'm only listing GPUReview.com, but I may add a couple of other projects later. Notably absent is Autoget, a p2p IRC script I spent about 8 months developing, but I think that's wise considering the current litigious climate created by the RIAA.

UVA Computer Science

These are all projects that stemmed from my job at the Computer Science Department at the University of Virginia. At this point I mostly do web design and progamming with the time I spend there, but the job really has taught me a wide range of skills. Aside from my programming efforts I've imaged a lot of Windows machines, learned my way around a *nix command prompt, assembled and wired up maybe a hundred rack-mounted servers, and I've learned more than I ever wanted to know about implementing Remote Installation Services.

Class Projects

These are just a couple of projects I've done for various Computer Science classes. The point here is: yes, I can program in something other than PHP and JavaScript. Unfortunately, any examples of things I've done in more 'hardcore' languages like C or Assembly are too small to really be worth posting here.

Freelance Web Design/Programming

These are the highlights of my freelance web design work. I've designed probably a dozen or so small websites aside from what's listed here, but I think these projects are the most representative. (That, and they haven't gone belly-up yet)
